SCTA 2020 Scholarship Application

Hello, welcome the the SCTA 2020 Scholarship Application.

Please read the instructions carefully.

  • The application period is from February 28 – April 3, 2020. Applications submitted before or after the application period will not be considered.
  • All entries must be submitted by 4:30 PM, Friday, April 3rd, 2020.
  • Your Official Sealed Transcripts must be delivered to the SCTA office via U.S. Mail or dropped off in person. Official Sealed Transcripts may be obtained from your school office manager or counselor.
  • You may use our mail slot to drop off documents outside of our office hours. We are typically open from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Mon-Fri.
  • Postmarked transcripts received after the deadline WILL NOT be accepted.
  • Update 3/17/2020 – Given the current situation of school closures we will ensure that any student who applies on time will have the opportunity to submit transcripts once schools open.

  • Do not include service hours for Senior Project. Note if the hours were a requirement for a school program (such as a service club, PACE, HISP, CSF, Key Club etc.).
  • One Page Autobiographical Essay

    • 12 point font
    • 1 inch margins
    • one page only
    • save as PDF

    Include the Following items in your essay

    1. family background
    2. future plans
    3. financial or special needs
    4. how a college education will help you to achieve your goals
    5. reasons for applying for this scholarship
  • Accepted file types: pdf.
  • Photo

    Please submit a photo of yourself. If possible use your Senior Class Picture or another portrait style photo. If you are selected as a scholarship recipient we may use your photo for promotional purposes.
  • By checking this box and uploading my photo I hereby grant permission and authorize SCTA to use my photo for promotional purposes including but not limited to: the SCTA Website, News Letter, promotional flyers and other print and/or digital communications without compensation or further notification.
  • .jpg or .png preferred

  • Deliver your official sealed transcripts by US Mail or In person to: 5300 Elvas Ave., Sacramento, CA 95819. Given the current situation of school closures, we will ensure that any student who applies on time will have the opportunity to submit transcripts once schools open.
