We’re Going to the Board on February 18th
Every Sac City Student Deserves to Be Taught by a Fully-Credentialed Teacher
Sacramento is one of the most ethnically and economically diverse communities in the country. Diversity is a strength, inequity is not. As studies show, the District leadership’s failure to recruit enough credentialed teachers means that it is most often children from less affluent and communities of color who most suffer.
The District’s failure is not because it lacks resources, but rather misplaced priorities. Despite additional revenues of $84 million per year, the District has chosen to hire more administrators, drag its feet on class size reduction, close schools, and pay consultants $417 per hour for questionable training, at the expense of students and educators.
That’s why we’re going to the School Board meeting on February 18th at Serna Center at 5 p.m. to show that we’re strong and united in ensuring all Sac City have the opportunity to learn from a fully-credentialed teacher.
