Four years after the disastrous decision to close 7 schools in the District, the second of those closed schools, Washington Elementary, is reopening, joining the previously reopened New Joseph Bonnheim Elementary.  Yesterday a large crowd of teachers, parents, students, neighbors and elected officials gathered for the official reopening of elementary school, located in Midtown Sacramento.  We look forward to working with the District, as part of our campaign to make Sac City the Destination District for California, to look at other areas that may deserve to have school reopened particularly in the South Sacramento area.
