Sac City Submits Budget It Knows Will Be Rejected

SHARE

Offering little explanation or justification, Superintendent Jorge Aguilar with the support of the School Board on October 4th approved submitting a budget that new Chief Business Officer John Quinto conceded would be rejected again by the County.

Why?

The District reports are even worse than originally thought and given the ever-changing excuses the Superintendent and Budget Committee appear to lack the expertise address the budget fiasco.

The’s District’s failure to propose a satisfactory budget will likely result in the County asserting even closer control of the District, a role that was supposed to be performed by the Budget Committee.

The District has still refused to respond to the SCTA proposal to reduce administrators to 2014-15 levels and to reduce Superintendent Aguilar’s pay to match the governor of California.  Today Jorge Aguilar is paid 61% more than Jerry Brown.  The SCTA proposal would save the District an immediate $16.6 million.
