Jay Hansen Defends Board Inaction on Cedros
Alternative Facts–Jay Hansen style.
On Sunday, the Sacramento Bee ran a story noting that the District finally fired Felisberto Cedros, the disgraced former principal at Hiram Johnson, on December 20, 2016.
A copy of the story can be view here.
The Bee further noted that Cedros continued to be employed by the District even after he had been removed as Hiram Johnson principal and after paying out $175,000 to settle a sexual harassment claim against Cedros.
Hansen suggests that the Board took action when “additional information” came to light–but refuses to identify what the information was. Hansen also ignores that he and other board members were challenged on continuing Cedros’s employment by SCTA in 2016 (view the video here), but chose to continue to pay Cedros his six-figure salary. It was only after the Bee made the story a scandal (see here) that Hansen and other board acted.
Tax payers in the District should be outraged that Hansen and other board members authorized spending over a half a million dollars to keep Cedros at the District and clean up his mess.
We deserve better,
