BARGAINING UPDATE

The District and the SCTA bargaining teams recently reached a conceptual agreement for the 2012-13 and 2013-14 school years. Unfortunately, the Sacramento County Office of Education Superintendent Dave Gordon has chosen not to approve the agreement.  Instead, Mr. Gordon is trying to insert significant language changes.   The changes are completely unacceptable to SCTA because they completely alter the intent of the conceptual agreement between the two parties.   SCTA is looking at options and will keep you informed as we continue our good faith bargaining with the District.

Layoff Hearings

The layoff hearings scheduled to begin next week on Tuesday the 24th are scheduled to end on Friday the 27th.  It was previously reported that the hearings would end on Monday the 30th, however, we have been informed on the change and now the hearings will conclude on Friday the 27th.  We strongly recommend all laid-off teachers attend.
